After 13 years as The IMAGE H.S. Ministry we have decided it's time for a name change and a new look as our ministry leaves behind many good & a few difficult years of ministry and enters a new season of reaching High School Students for Christ.
As the youth leaders and I thought long and hard about a name change we had a difficult time coming up with one until we were at LIFE 2010. COLLIDE was the theme of LIFE 2010 and it was a very transformational week for students, leaders and pastor alike as we all sensed God was helping us to turn a very important corner in our ministry. The idea behind COLLIDE is this... it's what happens when our world meets God's world. A collision takes place that gives birth to faith and causes it to be stretched and grown. As well, a collision takes place when our faith collides with the world around us... which not only gives us the opportunity for further growth, but to share the Great News of Jesus Christ so that others can "collide" with Him as well.
It's our desire as the H.S. Ministry of Westgate Chapel to be a place where High School students can come and experience these collisions... A place where students at all levels of belief, existent or not, can wrestle with their qustions about God and have the opportunity to grow deeper in their faith through a high energy, culturally relevant ministry that isn't ashamed to be centered on the Word of God.
